Over two weeks Film Pocket Films will conduct four workshops of three hours per session. During these workshops you will learn how to communicate ideas in an understandable, clear, and time efficient way by using the mobile phone as a tool of visual communication. You will learn about the different aspects of mobile phone filmmaking, such as how to construct narratives while being aware of your audience, how to practically use the mobile phone as a filming device, and how to use film editing applications and software to complete your films. Once you have learned these skills, you will make your own film about yourself and your research. Your completed film will showcase your research in a creative and visually engaging way, which will then feature on the WINGS website. The skills you will learn are reusable and adaptable. At the end of this course you will be able to apply your mobile phone filmmaking skills to make other short films for your work.
Film Pocket Films is excited to be conducting this workshop for WINGS members, and we look forward to guiding you in creating fantastic mobile phone films!
No prior experience is necessary. You will need to bring a mobile device (smartphone with video capabilities; android, iPhone or a tablet), a laptop with either iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker, and a cable to connect your laptop to your mobile device.
