What is the STEM Gender Equality Congress (SGEC) and why is it important for WINGS?

The STEM Gender Equality Congress (SGEC) is a two-day conference hosted by Science Impact Ltd. It offers delegates an opportunity to hear from and interact with thought leaders in gender equality in STEM.

Attended by leading researchers, policy makers, equality staff, the private sector, academic staff, government representatives and NGOs, the congress offers a perfect opportunity to network, learn and collaborate to achieve greater gender equality in STEM.

Each year SGEC offers the best case studies, most important policy developments, and an opportunity to network with other delegates who are facing the same challenges in trying to balance gender equality in STEM around the globe.

Only the most dynamic and relevant keynotes, speakers and case studies are selected to be part of the two-day agenda. The program is filled with thought-provoking addresses, high-level panel discussions, and in-depth case studies along with informative poster sessions and exhibitions.

Therefore, such a conference is within of interest of WINGS that showed their presence in this year event.  Charlotte Sjödell and Erik Andersson (see picture) who are two of the members of WINGS Steering Committee were part of the conference.

This event is really important we encourage academics to be rather present is such events. FOLLOW OUR EXAMPLE!
