2014 Step Up

Invited speakers from VR, Copenhagen University, ESS, VentureLab and MentLife. The day ended with an open panel discussion and a mingle event with mentors from both academia and industry. 250 participants.

2013 Annual Conference

Theme: Research management and leadership. Invited key speakers were Dr Cecilia Agrell (Lund University) and Dr Roosa Leimu Brown (University of Oxford). Dr Kerstin Fritsches (from PostdocTraining.com) was invited to lead two workshops on leadership. We gathered around 50 participants that mostly originated from the Faculty of Sciences, the Medial faculty and the engineering faculty. We also celebrated WINGS 10th anniversary.

2013 Step Up

Invited speakers was Kristina Lindgärde (LTH), Johanna Stadmark (WINGS), Carina Resare (Alfa Laval), Cecilia Agrell (LuPOD), Lena Uller (Medical Faculty, LU), Helena Ljusberg (LU Innovation System), Birgitta Larsson and Sophie Hydén Picasso (Forskningsservice) and Ulrikke Voss (Medical PhD student council). The day ended with an open panel discussion ("The next generation of researchers") and a mingle event with mentors from both academia and industry. 300 participants.

2012 Annual Conference

Theme: Research strategies and communication. Invited key speakers were Madeleine Rohlin and Gunnel Svensäter, both Professors at Malmö Högskola, sharing their insights into Change as a Chance. Carla Cederbaum, Assistant Research Professor in Mathematics from Duke University, NC, USA, was leading a workshop on science communication themed "Outreach and Outcome. 30 attendees interacted, networked and lively discussed their research during the meeting. 

2011 Annual Conference

Theme: Gender equality in Science. Invited key note speakers were Claudine Hermann, Honorary professor of Physics at Ecole Polytechnique, France and Dr. Evanthia Kalpazidou Schmidt from Aarhus University, Denmark. Also presentations and discussion about the present status of female researchers at the Faculty of Science (and how we can change it). Our new homepage was launched. All participants (20 presented their research (see abstracts). 

2010 Annual Conference

Theme: Interaction between research and industry and Science communication. Invited speaker was Malin Norin from NCC. The importance of presenting your research for the public was discussed during the meeting. Pia Romare led an exercise in writing short and interesting summaries aimed for the press. All participants (18) presented their research (see abstracts), now also including female PhD students.

2009 Annual Conference

Theme: Research and innovations. Invited speaker was Linda Thöny-Meyer from 'Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research' (EMPA). During the meeting several ideas for collaborations was discussed. All participants (11) presented their research (see abstracts).

2008 Annual Conference

Theme: Research and funding. Invited speaker was Agneta Andersson from Umeå University and FORMAS. Ragna Ehrenstråhle from LU research service and Anna von Barth from the faculty office talked about EU applications. All participants (29) presented their research (see abstracts).
